Decision, Learning, and Human Development provides a scholarly forum for research that advances understanding of how people learn, make decisions, exercise agency, adapt to changing circumstances, and develop across different stages and transitions of life.
The journal values research that offers clear conceptual, theoretical, empirical, methodological, or analytical contributions rather than merely describing localized phenomena. Context-specific studies are welcomed when they contribute to broader scholarly understanding, comparative knowledge, methodological development, theoretical refinement, or evidence-informed practice.
DLHD welcomes methodological diversity, including quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, longitudinal, cross-sectional, experimental, quasi-experimental, comparative, cross-cultural, psychometric, review-based, and interdisciplinary approaches where the design is appropriate to the research question and contribution.
Human development is shaped by interactions among cognitive, behavioral, educational, social, cultural, technological, organizational, and institutional processes. DLHD therefore encourages scholarship that crosses conventional disciplinary boundaries when such integration strengthens theoretical understanding, methodological quality, or interpretation of developmental phenomena.
The journal particularly values research capable of connecting individual-level developmental processes with the wider environments in which learning, choice, adaptation, identity, capability, wellbeing, and human agency are formed and transformed.
DLHD is institutionally affiliated with Yayasan Kalidaka Cendikia Nusantara and formally published by CV WISE Pendidikan Indonesia. This structure provides institutional and publishing support for the journal while maintaining a clear separation between publishing administration and scholarly editorial decision-making.
The institutional affiliation supports the journal's academic development and scholarly community, while the publisher provides formal publishing, administrative, metadata, digital dissemination, and related publication infrastructure. Decisions concerning manuscript evaluation and publication remain the responsibility of the journal's editorial structure in accordance with established editorial policies.
DLHD welcomes submissions from all geographical regions and encourages scholarship representing diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, institutional, and developmental contexts.
Studies conducted within a single institution, community, region, or country are welcome when their research questions, theoretical framing, analytical interpretation, or implications make the contribution meaningful beyond the immediate study setting. The journal particularly encourages scholarship that expands representation of populations and contexts that remain underrepresented in international developmental research.
DLHD is published electronically through the Open Journal Systems platform. Each formally published article becomes part of the journal's scholarly record and is presented with the bibliographic and publication metadata necessary for identification, citation, dissemination, and scholarly discovery.
Publication scheduling, issue organization, article assignment, and related operational information are maintained transparently through the journal website and applicable publication policies.
DLHD provides immediate Open Access to its published scholarly content. Readers may access published articles online without subscription or registration barriers.
Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), supporting broad dissemination, responsible reuse, adaptation, and redistribution provided that appropriate attribution is given and applicable third-party rights are respected.
Manuscripts submitted to DLHD undergo editorial assessment for relevance, scholarly contribution, methodological suitability, research integrity, and compliance with journal requirements before proceeding to external peer review where applicable.
DLHD applies a double-anonymous peer-review model designed to support independent, confidential, constructive, and evidence-informed evaluation. Editorial decisions are based on the manuscript's scholarly quality, originality, methodological rigor, relevance to the journal's scope, ethical integrity, and the peer-review record.
DLHD maintains the independence of scholarly editorial decision-making. The journal's publisher, institutional affiliation, administrative arrangements, financial support, or other non-editorial relationships do not determine whether a manuscript is accepted or rejected. Editors are expected to make decisions according to scholarly merit, journal scope, research integrity, peer-review evidence, and applicable editorial policies.
When an Editor-in-Chief, Editor, Reviewer, Editorial Board member, or other person involved in DLHD's editorial governance is an author of a submitted manuscript or has another relevant competing interest, that individual must not participate in manuscript assessment, reviewer selection, peer review, or the editorial decision. The manuscript will be handled independently by an appropriate editor without the relevant conflict.
DLHD seeks to foster scholarly exchange among researchers working across diverse populations, developmental stages, educational systems, cultures, communities, organizations, and institutional environments. The journal encourages comparative and cross-cultural perspectives while also recognizing the scholarly value of carefully contextualized evidence from individual settings.
This page presents DLHD's institutional identity, scholarly positioning, publishing model, and editorial principles.
