Research scope and scholarly orientation
Decision, Learning, and Human Development (DLHD) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal advancing interdisciplinary research on human development across the life course. The journal explores how learning, cognition, decision-making, agency, and contextual experiences shape developmental processes and outcomes across educational, social, cultural, organizational, and technology-mediated settings.
Current Issue
Volume 1, No. 1 (June 2026) of Decision, Learning, and Human Development brings together 15 unique authors from a total of 3 countries, namely the Philippines, Indonesia, and Viet Nam, across 6 scholarly articles. This issue examines educational transitions and student development through academic demands and integration among first-year university students, foreign-language anxiety during the transition to higher education, and student satisfaction within transnational joint-degree provision. It also addresses human development across the life course through demographic ageing and healthy-ageing projections as well as adolescent literacy development, while multilingual learning is investigated through storytelling-based visual scaffolding and cross-linguistic transfer in Tagalog–Iloko bilingual contexts. Collectively, the contributions connect higher education, language and literacy learning, multilingual cognition, population ageing, and life-course development across Southeast Asian educational and social settings.
