ALFI provides a scholarly forum for the publication and dissemination of original, methodologically rigorous, ethically responsible, and internationally relevant research concerning agriculture, livestock, food industries, agribusiness, technological innovation, sustainability, and food-system development.
The journal is intended for researchers, academics, practitioners, policymakers, industry professionals, and other scholarly communities interested in understanding and improving the productivity, quality, safety, resilience, sustainability, technological development, governance, and inclusiveness of contemporary agri-food systems.
Detailed information concerning the disciplinary and thematic coverage of the journal is presented separately on the Aims & Scope page so that the About Journal page remains focused on institutional identity, editorial positioning, publishing arrangements, and the journal's overall scholarly profile.
Agriculture, Livestock, and Food Industry (ALFI) is an academic journal affiliated with Yayasan Kalidaka Cendikia Nusantara and formally published by WISE Pendidikan Indonesia.
Yayasan Kalidaka Cendikia Nusantara provides the journal's institutional and scholarly environment, while WISE Pendidikan Indonesia serves as the formal publisher and supports the publishing infrastructure, publication administration, digital dissemination, and related publishing activities necessary for sustainable journal operation.
The institutional affiliation and publishing arrangement do not override the scholarly authority of the journal's editorial leadership. Decisions concerning the evaluation, acceptance, rejection, correction, or retraction of individual manuscripts remain subject to independent editorial judgment and the journal's publicly stated editorial policies.
ALFI is positioned as an international and interdisciplinary journal rather than as a publication restricted to a particular institution, region, or national research community. The journal welcomes submissions from scholars worldwide and encourages research capable of contributing to international scholarly discussions concerning agri-food systems.
Studies conducted in a local or national setting are welcome when authors clearly articulate their broader theoretical, methodological, scientific, technological, policy, economic, environmental, or practical relevance. Geographic specificity should provide empirical context rather than limit the scholarly significance of the manuscript.
The journal particularly values manuscripts that engage meaningfully with relevant international literature and make a clear contribution to existing knowledge, theory, methodology, technology, policy, professional practice, or understanding of contemporary agri-food systems.
ALFI publishes three regular issues each year, scheduled in April, August, and December. Each calendar year normally constitutes one volume, with regular issues organized sequentially as No. 1 (April), No. 2 (August), and No. 3 (December).
The journal applies a continuous issue publication model. Once an article has successfully completed peer review, revision, final editorial approval, copyediting, layout, proofreading, metadata preparation, and production checks, it may be formally published within the current active issue without waiting for all other articles assigned to that issue to be completed.
Additional articles may subsequently be added to the active issue as they become publication-ready. This model supports timely dissemination while maintaining a stable and predictable three-issue annual publication structure. Continuous publication does not shorten or bypass ALFI's editorial, peer-review, research-integrity, or quality-control requirements.
ALFI operates under a Diamond Open Access model. Published scholarly content is made openly available to readers without subscription or access charges, and authors are not required to pay an Article Processing Charge or other mandatory publication fee.
Submission, editorial processing, peer review, acceptance, DOI registration, copyediting, layout, publication, and online dissemination are provided to authors without mandatory author-side charges. No waiver application is necessary because the journal's standard APC is IDR 0 / USD 0.
Unless otherwise indicated for specific third-party material, published articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), and authors retain copyright in their work in accordance with the journal's Open Access and Copyright policies.
Research articles that proceed beyond initial editorial screening are evaluated through a double-anonymous peer-review process involving a minimum of two independent reviewers with relevant scholarly or methodological expertise.
ALFI evaluates manuscripts according to originality, methodological rigor, relevance, ethical compliance, transparency, scholarly positioning, reliability of evidence, and contribution to knowledge. The journal maintains policies concerning publication ethics, plagiarism and similarity, conflicts of interest, corrections and retractions, ethical research, authorship, and other areas necessary to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
Editorial decisions are made independently by ALFI's editorial leadership. The institutional affiliation, publisher, financial arrangements, authors, reviewers, sponsors, funders, advertisers, or other external parties must not determine whether an individual manuscript is accepted or rejected.
Where an editor, Editorial Board member, reviewer, or other individual involved in journal governance is an author of a submitted manuscript, that person must be excluded from reviewer selection, editorial evaluation, deliberation, and the publication decision concerning the manuscript. The submission must be handled independently and subjected to the same scholarly standards as other manuscripts.
ALFI welcomes submissions from authors worldwide and seeks to develop a diverse international scholarly community involving researchers, reviewers, editors, practitioners, policymakers, and readers from different geographic, disciplinary, and institutional backgrounds.
Manuscripts are assessed on scholarly merit rather than the nationality, geographic location, institutional prestige, academic rank, financial resources, or professional status of their authors. The journal encourages equitable participation in scholarly communication while maintaining consistent standards of research quality and integrity.
This About Journal page provides information concerning ALFI's identity, institutional relationship, publishing model, editorial positioning, peer-review framework, open-access model, and scholarly orientation. Detailed subject coverage, thematic areas, manuscript types, editorial priorities, and scope boundaries are provided separately in the journal's Aims & Scope.
